You can try and describe different places in different ways, but no words can describe the amount of joy we felt when finally meeting all of our friends in Japan again. The jet lag that we felt was no match for the fond feelings of traveling through Shinjuku on foot, trying to locate our first meal on Japanese soil. The two other bands that we have with us on this tour, (Holiday Parade, Goot) fit right in as we walked around aimlessly as a large group of westerners looking much like tourists. In order to give you a unique perspective on our look into the culture, quietdrive is going to provide a series of blogs from each member in order to give our friends and fans an outside looking in perspective on what we see and feel.
Today is my turn. We located a restaurant where we dipped thin slices of meat and put them into boiling water along with vegetables. It only takes a few seconds, and after you pull the meat out of the water with your chopsticks, you enjoy it with an amazing selection of sauces. It was too good to be true. At the end of the meal we had happy faces, and we decided to make it an early night and walked around Shinjuku a little more before retiring into our hotel. Tomorrow will be an exciting day as our american football sports team is in the semi-finals of the super bowl, and we are playing our first acoutic in-store at a Tower records in Shinjuku. Excited as we are, I think it will be extremely easy to sleep tonight.
You could say that we are anxious to be here, but it feels like home as we were here at the same time last year. We hope that all can make it to the shows we play, and we will be attaching photos along with this blog to hopefully include some of our biggest fans. See you all soon.

It sounds like you are having a great time over there. I can only imagine how different everything is, seeing how I haven't even left the east coast of the United states. =-( But I am happy you guys get opportunities like this.
I can't believe how easily you can put what you feel into a blog like this (guess it kinda goes along with being a fantastic songwriter)!!! Just reading this is like being there, following you guys on your adventures. =-)
I hope every day just gets better for you and the guys.
=-)
