08.21.06 - Quietdrive's Van & Gear Stolen and Held for Ransom

Last Friday, August 18th, was supposed to be a day off for the guys in Quietdrive. Unfortunately, it turned out to be anything but, as the band's van, gear and merchandise were stolen, held for ransom, and partially recovered.

The robbery took place in downtown Detroit in broad daylight following a Thursday night show in Grand Rapids. "We were relaxing at a friend's apartment," says Quietdrive vocalist Kevin Truckenmiller, "when thieves drove off with our van, trailer and basically everything we own. Ironically, it was stolen while parked about 50 feet from a security guard post."

"And here's where the story gets even weirder," adds guitarist Matt Kirby. "Apparently, a person with knowledge of the theft opened one of our CDs, saw our contact info, called our manager and attorney and offered info in exchange for money and a job handling our security! Meanwhile, a local friend called a contact in the FBI and a task force of feds, local and state police recovered some of our gear as it was being moved to a major fencing operation."

Unfortunately, the band's van, trailer, majority of equipment and personal effects (clothes, iPods, video cameras, etc.) are still missing. The stolen items add up to more than $60,000 in damages. Despite the major setback, the group had a friend drive them to Saturday's show in Birch Run, Michigan, where they borrowed gear and went on with the show. Still, they're appealing for help to recover their equipment.

"Much was lost, but a few of the more precious items of sentimental value include a Paul Reed Smith McCarty Guitar, a Gibson Nighthawk, a portable ProTools recording rig with hard drive, and a Yamaha Electronic violin," says guitarist Justin Bonhiver. "If you see or hear anything about these items, please email us immediately at quietdriverock@gmail.com. Any help raising awareness or information leading to retrieval would be greatly appreciated."

04.27.06 - More Minneapolis CD Pre-Order info + CD release show info

When All That's Left Is You
our debut album
is finished and rip-ready for release!

This magical moment means a full-on Quietdrive-style party. To do it right, we are throwing a hometown CD release show on Tuesday, May 30th in Minneapolis at the Varsity Theater on the University of Minnesota campus.

Put your party pants on boys and girls, we have some surprises for you. Special guests opening the show, random prizes (tee-shirts, etc.) throughout the night, a short film comprised of video footage from our last couple of years on the road, and most important....some new songs never before played! We promise to make this a show you don't want to miss.

THE SKINNY....
1. Pre-orders through the Electric Fetus include a free ticket to our CD release show.

2. After these 250 tickets are snapped up in the pre-order phase, the venue will make a limited number of tickets for sale....but big daddy Kirby warns you fair and square, only 250 will be put up for sale, and after that, the window of opportunity closes. That's no fun right?! So be sure to get on this offer fast while it lasts.

3. This special offer is exclusively through the Electric Fetus locations and begins on Thursday, May 11th.
And last but not least....if you can't make it to the show for some possible reason (there are very few excusable grounds here) you can still order the CD online at: http://www.quietdrivemusic.com/cdpreorder

Those who order through the Quietdrive site will receive a CD booklet personally signed by each member of the band because we will miss you that much.

04.10.06 - Album News!

Today, the sun does shine, flowers bloom, spring has sprung! I am proud to say that the long wait is over my friends. Not talking winter, nor cleaning our laundry. Naah. As good as those events are, we have something better and bigger to declare.

QUIETDRIVE
IS RELEASING ITS DEBUT ALBUM
WHEN ALL THAT'S LEFT IS YOU
ON MAY 30, 2006

We just finished the lp cover artwork, and all that remains to do is press "ship". Yep, 10 tracks, all set to go, and so we move to the next stage. This scenario poses a brilliant question........ What do you do when you release your first record??? ........... and the answer is, throw a monstrous, memorable CD release party!!!

Which we promise to do in Minneapolis, birthplace of Quietdrive. Plus, Minnesota fans, you get the dibs on the deal of the year. For EVERYONE who orders the record in advance, you are invited to the release party for free. Yes, we will be on stage and raring to celebrate the best days of our lives. The venue, date, and details are on countdown to blast off as we write this, and of course we plan to do nothing short of the most amazing gig you have ever seen from us.

For those of you outside of Minnesota, we state the obvious. We have yet another coast to coast tour kicking off. We join forces with our dear friends in Daphne Loves Derby and Waking Ashland for a slew of shows out west (check out the TOUR E-CARD here), head back to AZ, TX, find ourselves in Atlanta (where we recorded the tracks we did with Butch Walker), and Nashville, Greensboro, and head up the east coast to join the Moustache Tour brigade. (For more on the Moustache Tour, see our previous email blast for those exciting details). So it won't be hard to see a Quietdrive show this spring, or find our new album.

And, when it rains, it pours. Because we also have a special, limited edition EP with new acoustic tracks, including Rise from the Ashes, and live recordings of Rush Together and Take A Drink. Egads, if that weren't enough, we hope to add some in-store acoustic performances along the way.

As soon we can confirm all the little details, we will have another announcement shortly concerning the other in-store performances, our CD release party, and how can get your hands on the special EP while we press up the full length.

BRING ON THE PARTY,

03.20.06 - Hey Team!

A very special thing has just happened. I got off the phone with our special friends Ludo from St. Louis and we were discussing our upcoming tour dates together. What was decided will most definitely lead to us attracting more women, becoming local watering hole celebrities, and eventually end our name on the national Be-Aware-of-Pedophiles-in-Your-Neighborhood list. Yes Kids! It’s the moustache tour and we are coming to a city near YOU! The whole team will be donning the greatest fashion statement since the fanny pack. (which I still think is sexy as hell)

Check out our new podcast online at www.quietdrivemusic.com/podcast! Come grab a sneaker peek of Quietdrive life off-stage. We also have some new video clips from our life on the road. These videos may or may not include our favorite band fight clips, and our manager Dennis Pelowski telling the world, "how it is."

You want to hear new Quietdrive tunes?!?!! We have a brand new live/acoustic EP coming out in a week. It will be available online as well as at your favorite indie record stores across the country. I’ll let you in on a little secret too.......A brand new song is hiding in the package.

God! Just when I think I can't give you guys any more new material or special story, something like this comes in. Brandon and I along with our good looking friend Jennings will be creating custom jumpsuits to be worn during all adult soda drinking festivities. Known to us as Team Best and by others as "the group of trons that think they are sweet" we would be honored if you took a picture of yourself in your favorite jumpsuit doing an activity that you share a passion for. MOST submissions will be put up on the website!!! (barring anything that can put us in jail) Mail all pictures with disclaimers to quietdriverock@gmail.com

Check out our website for speedy delivery, accurate forecasts, and pictures of YOU in jumpsuits!

02.22.2006 - Feb 23 Show Cancellation Info

We have some horrible news for everybody in central Minnesota today. No ! Polaris and Yamaha are not recalling snow-mobile jackets with beautifully bold neon colors but we are canceling the show at the LaPlayette in St. Joseph, MN scheduled on Thursday. There was some internal confusion regarding the technical aspects of the show and how to fix them. Sadly, as we were on tour, we couldn’t solve the problem in time for the show. We deeply apologize for the cancellation and plan on returning very soon. We love all of you from the area (SJU is like a second home to us) and if there was a way we could fix it, we would. We sincerely apologize to each and everyone of you for the abrupt change in plans.

Still interested in seeing Quietdrive?... we have a show in Minneapolis on March 1st at the Triple Rock and we hope you can make it to that one. Sorry for the inconvenience! In the meantime...you can check our websites and see our new music video if you still miss us!

02.13.2006 - From The Road...

So this is all kinds of funny. Roughly 2 months ago, we were playing a few dates along the west coast. During that time, we were hanging out with our booking agent Zach. Zach didn't want to make the 2 hour fantastic voyage from LA to home himself so Droo decided to jump in with Zach. So anyone of you reading this from CA knows about the steep fine for littering as they have signs posted "$1000 fine for littering" every 10 miles. Droo neglected to assume those to be true and dropped a ciggy-poo out the window as a cop was directly behind him. So the cop comes by the window and slaps a ticket on our delinquent bass player's hand. Here is the catch....it listed no fine, no punishment whatsoever. So we bring it back home and have the Quietdrive Johnny Cochrans take a gander at it. They can't find anything either. So Droo had to make a separate trip all the way back to CA just to find out what the hell the ticket was even for. He came back a very sad boy.

The honorable Judge so-and-so didn't just slap Droo's wrist...he broke it in half, drove over it with his Lexus, threw it in the lawnmower and pooped on it. Droo then had to get on a flight home and wait another month to pay his $500 fine and serve amongst Santa Barbara's finest white-collar criminals with an 8-hour donation of his time cleaning up garbage and lifting heavy things. If we weren't so lazy we would have made the 45 minute drive to video tape said activity and post it over the internet for your enjoyment but we slept in. You see, after a 44 hour drive from Minneapolis to San Luis Obispo, we had just a few hours of downtime before the punishment began.

But we are going to have some new videos coming up as soon as we can sit down and chop some together, so stay tuned to the website boys and girls. Highlights may or may not include: Band dancing, almost tipping the van over a cliff in the hills of CA, a girl who wouldn't wear a jacket in sub-zero temperatures, and live performance of us dudes on tour.

We have a live/acoustic EP coming out to tide those over who have been waiting ever so patiently for the full -length release. And we are on tour ALL OVER the US right now so keep your eyes peeled for us.

Don't litter

02.03.2006 - Update From The Road (where else?)

If January is any indication, we love our work. Tuesday night we played acoustically in Phoenix (Kevin, Justin and me - Kirby), at the Music Monitor Network convention. We're trying to decide who got the better deal: Droo and Brandon, at home in their own beds. Or us, in the warmth of the winter desert, but utterly deprived of sleep. If you catch us stumbling and grumbling, we'd offer up the fact that we hate that planes fly at 6am. The morning after you've just climbed out of the van. I missed seeing that part in the job description. But if you catch me grumbling, shoot me.

This latest tour run began a week ago in Lawrence. With Ludo, and then Treaty of Paris. We made stops for the first time in Columbia Mo (Blue Note), and Quincy College. Then on to now-old haunts Chicago and Iowa City. The responses we have been getting are just knocking us out. All the crowd energy is helping make for some of the best performances we've ever delivered.

We landed in time to kick off our next Minnesota leg on 2/01. Rent is due, so we find it helpful to see our landlords/house providers early in the month. While we're home, we plan to record some cool tracks which we may opt to release a little later this spring. Look for more news on that front soon.

Then we are off to California. Before we start the Sherwood/Waking Ashland tour, Droo has to put in some hard time doing community service because of his cigarette incident last tour out there. Repeat this rhyme (granted, it's not Eminem caliber) along with Droo:

"In the Golden State, it does not pay,
to use the PCH for a personal ashtray."

Last but not least, we are getting close to the release of the Rise From The Ashes video. We love it, and can't wait to share with everyone. If you want to help us promote it, then sign up for our e-team. This is a brand new one, so if you've signed up for any others, sign up for this one and you'll get first access to some really cool stuff for helping spread the word! Thanks for your support!

See you soon, real soon.

01.19.2006 - Update From the Road

After scoffing at sub-zero temperatures for the better portion of December, we departed for the turbulence of Hollywood C-A last week. Wait a minute. Quietdrive does Hollywood? You bet your dad's ass, if you dare. We recorded our very first music video! Said video is now in post-production. While we wait for its completion, we wanted to give you something we shot while we were touring California last December. This footage is utterly unrelated to the video, so don't confuse the two!! But it rocks. Check it out below this post. (With thanks to Alex Cartio for the recording.)

For those who didn't make it to the set, the highlights were many. Now for our version of Hollywood Squares.

Question: Does Quietdrive do their own Stunts?

Truth: Don't doubt it. We like to keep it real. How real? We gamely took on about forty different 16-foot jumps from speaker cabinets to solid stage wood. All you jocks reading this....you keep it shut. Right now! You shut it..... This was a huge test for the athletically challenged member of the band (Droo). He survived. Must have been that boost he got from turning 21 on 12/3105.

Question: Does Quietdrive ever diet?

Myth: Kevin's emaciated figure is the 8th wonder of the world...not a high gigawatt protein shake after low carb slim fast sensible dinner.

Question: What did Quietdrive do for its Extras at the video shoot?

Fact: These angels had the "pleasure" of waiting the better half of a decade to get their scenes in before 1 am. We tried to do right by partying with them afterwards.

Question: So does Quietdrive wear eyeliner?

Objection: Four QD members take the 5th. It's that simple.... For the record, Kirby (aka, "I am not a snitch") says no eyeliner. Got indisputable proof to the contrary? I didn't think so. See how easy denial operates?

Question: Should we worry that Quietdrive takes Drugs?

Fact: During the video marathon, Brandon sought out the medic, several times. His audible requests included BOTH Advil and the finest Russian menthol rub for his arms.

In ungodly quantities, Kirby consumed enough highly caffeinated coffee (laced with chocolate sauce, every creamer ever invented, and 5 sugar packs) to keep the city of London powered for a week.

Question: Will Quietdrive tour ever again?

News flash: For those who don't know our tour dates by heart, we urge you to catch a show! If you somehow cannot find us, there are no excuses that I know of. ( r.i.p. Layne S.)

See ya later....

Happy Holidays friends! We hope you get all the filthy lucre you can handle, and eat yourself drunk on at least one....maybe 8 days before you find yourself in 2006 with seasonal merriment in the rear view mirror.

We have exciting news to share. "Rise From the Ashes" will be our first radio single. The campaign to rule the airwaves starts in just a few more weeks. .....sooooo.....we're counting on you guys to help us along by dialing up the radio stations and requesting spins of Rise.

We also get to make a music video! YES! It may not be art, and if I had my way, we'd scour the country and turn up enough scantily clad ladies to give those 1980's Motley Crue videos some serious competition. There'd be expensive champagne bathing, and Bentley-chauffeured scenes to boot. The trick is, how can we do this on a budget 1/100th what the Crue probably spent? Well, in all likelihood, there goes my dreams, unrealized again.

While speaking of champagnes and campaigns, how about a big toast and THANK YOU to all of you who expressed interest in our street team. We need all the help we can get. If you are interested still and haven't yet signed up, write an email to quietdriverock@gmail.com. Tell us know who you are, where you are from, and how we can send you materials to share with your friends and community.

After we see how well Santa treats us this year, we plan on resuming our tour journeys all over the US. Check up our tour dates on the tour page.

We have started our most recent tour defying all known earthly elements.
Ice laden highways, winds the strength of Hercules, fire-flaming amps, and droughts (beers can be purchased in L.A. from Pink Dot until 3AM -- too bad we found that out at 3:12AM).

It's the holiday season all over, of course. We're in Southern California, and impressed with the spirited seasonal displays. (And also with the 55 year old guy who helped back the van out of a tight spot, and sent us off with a "nice job, dude!") Our shopping needs are simple. Want to get us an early Xmas present? We are looking for a few good street teamers everywhere. Are you good at drawing posters? Do you live near or work at a local venue? Are you in a personal relationship with your computer like us?

If you can book a show, or pass out fliers, or hand out Quietdrive EP's at your school, or help us create online Quietdrive awareness, or things of your own inclination that will assist us with street team needs, we will love you forever.

Some of the sites where we would benefit from chatter about your interest in our music and tours include: myspace, www.facebook.com, and absolutepunk.net. Also, we are recruiting street team members at our live shows. Indeed, the first 3 people to sign on to our street team at each show we play will get a free T-shirt and anything else we can afford to give to you. (Hugs, ramen noodles, guitar picks, etc.)

Dudes,

Quietdrive is hitting the road today for the East Coast. We will be on tour with Daphne Loves Derby, Socratic, and New Atlantic so if you are getting this email, we would love to see you at one of these shows. What's that? You need incentive?!? FINE! Quietdrive has a bunch of new T-shirt designs in some bold and brassy new colors. We also have new stickers, buttons, and yes ladies.....wicked awesome sexy necklaces. (Instead of updating the site with live show pictures, we may just send you action shots of us sitting cross-legged in a circle drinking tea and making these necklaces whilst enjoying a soap opera on day-time television.) Yes that DID happen.

Why else should you go to a show? The answer is because we may not be back on the East Coast until the new year after tour, so make that extra special effort if you please. In addition, you can meet our new helper on the road....Luke. He looks just like Skeletor from the sweetest show on TV....He-Man. He is strong, he ALWAYS wears shorts, and we truly believe he could save the world. So come one, come all to a Quietdrive show nearest you and check out our hot new threads and our Tour Guru Lukey-Poo.

Dear friends, we are not out of tour stories just yet. But instead of talking about traffic jams in Iowa, and ghosts (or maybe no ghosts in PA), we want to touch on a subject that means a lot to us right now. With our songs at last freed from the studio console and turned into actual discs with wicked awesome sweet graphics by Motown man Bob Lenz, Quietdrive would absolutely love it if you started calling your local radio stations and asking them to support and play Quietdrive. And don’t stop there. Send them letters, emails, text messages, etc.

Hey friends! Kirby checking in with you to give you an update about the tour.

So don't ever drive in New York City. Not in a car. Not in a van. And if you are driving with a trailer - just go ahead and send the Big Apple a check for a few hundred dollars with a note that says "Dear city planners, here is some money for parking tickets we expect to get. Sorry for not finding the 1 parking space available in lower Manhattan." We got stabbed with two $100+ parking tickets in 24 hours. And we had to beg, borrow and steal our car away from the dude with the flatbed tow truck.

Things rocked on the East Coast and to the fans who came out to see us: You were incredible! Being corn fed Midwestern type kids we don't know much 'bout those big buildings and fancy foods that you folk have out there - especially the law that says corn beef sandwiches have to weigh a minimum of 13 lbs to qualify as "lunch." The bodily harm those did to us in an enclosed can is more than you can imagine. Gross Brandon. Gross.

We did go to a sweet bar in New Jersey where I met a fellow named "Chaz" or "D'Quan" or some other East German name. I had recently purchased a killer pink Cubs baseball hat - and because Fat Joe says pink is hot, I bought it - which this gentleman enjoying an adult soda wanted. So after a few rounds of the establishment's finest, I offered a trade: my pink Cubs hat for his awesome Expos hat. Everyone in the bar thought the Expos hat was much sweeter than the Cubs hat - and so did I. But apparently I have beer goggles when it comes to fashion - and when I looked at it the next day, it appears to have spent time at the Abu Graib prison on latrine duty. Ish. So now, I officially rock the dirtiest Expos hat known to man.

QD also lost power on our computer and for a number of days on the road - we felt what it was like to tour in the back of Johnny Cash's van circa 1950. No good. Justin totally couldn't talk to hot babes all day on the Internet.

And even though our splendid new friends in Lancaster, PA want us to believe there are ghosts all around, they never introduced us properly. Any ghosts that exist will have to wait for our next visit. We'll put them all on the guest list as soon as they identify themselves. Meanwhile, props to the Underwater and to Out of Line for hosting our gang for 30 some days."

HEY, EVERYONE -

We are excited and I want to tell you why. A big day for Quietdrive is coming up and we want all of you to be a part of it. We are going to be releasing our new EP to anyone and everyone in a little less than a week. Fall From The Ceiling will contain 3 tracks: "Take a Drink," "Rise From the Ashes," and "Maybe Misery." So those who haven't heard all the tracks, we can't wait for you to hear them. For those who have, now you can listen to Quietdrive in the car or throw it on your iPod AND see some sweet new artwork.

In other news, we made it out East! We are staying with our friend Chris for a few days in Rochester. He designed our new kick ass T shirt. It's for the ladies.... bwinst! He has generously allowed the 5 of us to stay at his home and we are quite thankful that he is an awesome artist and "on the road mom."

Quick story: So being from the midwest, we eat a lot of things like corn... fish (lots of lakes)... cattle... etc. We're salt from the earth kinda guys. Well, we got to witness first hand the loveliness of the East Coast yesterday at a late-night greaser joint called The Hots. The meal is called a garbage plate -- where this dude in the back kitchen takes a scoop of macaroni salad, a BIG handful of french fries, a scoop of grilled onions, and 2 cheeseburgers and throws them in a to-go box. After you get it, you take it to the condiment station and smear ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and some steak sauce on it. Then you mash it together and eat it. Rarely can you still feel something in your gut 15 hours after you eat it.... It was, needless to say, sensational.

Keep a look out for us on the East Coast, we will be near your town soon enough!

Best wishes,

It wasn't long ago that we began our tour of the Midwest. Venues in Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Minnesota have all become second homes to our van and trailer. It began in early August and will continue through the end of the year. It has been an incredible journey, as we are seeing more and more fans attending our shows. Plus, we love being on the road! Eating the same flavor of granola bars, praying we can cram 7 filthy dudes into a single room at the EconoLodge, and trying to sleep next to a guy who's dinner was a bag of cool ranch Doritos he scored is a lot of fun.

One of the big perks about being on the road however, is meeting other bands. We had the privilege to be on the road with an act called The Underwater out of York, PA. If our work always can be as entertaining as we have experienced with these guys, there will be no way to wipe the smiles off our faces. If anyone has been able to see some of the last 6-7 shows, you know first hand, these guys are playing for keeps. Pure rock and roll they are. We miss them already and they've only been out of our sight for 2 days. They are a mandatory recommendation – www.theunderwater.net

From what has been going on so far in the Midwest, we know the east coast dates with The Underwater and Out of Line are going to go down as some of the most lively gigs one could hope for this fall. If you live in NY, NJ, PA or in neighboring regions, you ought to check out our dates together and make unyielding plans to see us!

We will be providing more notes about our recent touring activities and plan to post photos and other visual/verbal tidbits as we go along. If you are a Midwest fan...worry not! We are coming your way as soon as we leave the coast, so don't fret. But for the next month or so, if you want in, start the car.

ONE exception though!

We play a FREE 21+ show at Bunkers on Tuesday Sept. 13, w/ our dear friends The Hopefuls. We take the stage at 10-10:30 PM, and can hardly wait. Doors open at 8 PM and the Hopefuls start no later than 8:30 pm. See you there!

HEY, EVERYONE -

For the last two days we've been scrounging to survive is Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Yesterday, for example we spent time playing golf, drinking beer and wine, being cooked for, shooting pool, and sleeping in comfortable beds. Hard to believe that we can handle this grueling life on the road, but we are warriors, and we are determined to pay any price to make groovy music.

In all seriousness we've been enjoying a great couple months of midwest touring, making friends and hanging out with good people.

We've discovered the HBO show Entourage recently, and are biting our nails in anticipation for the next episode. The premise revolves around the budding career of young Hollywood sensation Vincent Chase, and his posse of childhood friends, native to Queens, NYC and now living in giant sized houses in LA's premire neighborhoods. They live a life of rock star caliber and each character is fascinating in his own right.

But let's get back to business. We are stoked to be playing the East coast for the first time real soon. We can't wait to meet you all.

Keep in touch and don't forget to tell your friends to sign up for our mailing list (click the link at the top of this page). The PSP giveaway is going to happen VERY SOON!!
We love you all,

Thanks for coming, thanks for listening, thanks for your continued support!

ALSO, we deeply regret we have to pull out of the Owatonna show on Aug. 10. That's the bad news. The good news is that we are finishing up our debut LP for Epic, and the Aug 10 conflict is because we are working overtime to get the record done. Those who can join us, please do so at the Aug 5 Fine Line show. If you cant make that show, we promise we will be plenty busy around the state the rest of the year. We are grateful for your support.

As our last post stated, we had some problems on the road in Phoenix. It turns out that we have been over loading our trailer for about 5,000 too many miles and put the big hurt on our axle. So its new trailer day. We are heading out to some place which looks like Iowa to get a new one. For a band, this day is like a 30 year old family man getting a brand new minivan. For the outsider, this day is boring, but we are gonna trick it out with luggage racks, storage compartments and all that other sweet stuff. Other than that, the record is pretty much finished and expected to be out early 2006, so we want to spend a bunch of time on the road prior to that. Keep checking out our Tour page for a visit near you.

05.10.2005 - West Coast Top Ten

Folks, It's been far too long since last we wrote.

We want to remind all of our Minneapolis friends that we are playing at the Quest Club on May 18th, and we hope everyone can make it. (Keep an eye out for a rebirth of the violin.)

A big thanks to everyone who came out to see us on the left coast with Puffy Ami Yumi (who are some of the most wicked awesome people we've ever had the chance to work with.) We had three weeks of beautiful weather and made a ton of new friends. Here are some things that we learned on the trip.

1. No matter what the situation, Kirby can always find a good reason for leaving his underwear on the hotel bathroom floor.
2. Brandon and Sexual J, not only prefer to share a bed, but they refuse to sleep with anyone else, and will always be the first in the hotel room to ensure that this happens.
3. San Francisco has more homeless per square inch than any other city on the face of the earth. Not only do they tend to be aggressive, but they will fight you for matches, and try to sell you free newspapers right in front of the free newspaper box. Best suggestion on how to deal with this: get really drunk, and have Kirby yell at our homeless friends, and then stand behind JB for protection.
4. Vancouver Canada pretty much the best city ever, and Canadian customs are pretty awesome as well. U.S. customs however, will not believe that you are a United States citizen no matter what form of ID you give them, and they nearly deported Sexual J back to his native Great Britain.
5. Soda Pop gives you cavities.
6. If you don't want to become paralyzed from the waist down, one must apply copious amounts of Gold Bond Medicated Powder to the nether regions.
7. If you ever have the opportunity to gamble with Sexual J...DO IT. He loses on average $50 an hour when at the appropriate inebriation level.
8. Before playing any college venue, be prepared for riots in the street, damage to your van, and a solid inch of dried alcohol residue all over your gear.
9. Japanese drummers + Tequila Shots = AWESOME.
10. If you blow a tire in the middle of the desert where there is no lights, 18 wheelers whizzing by you at 65 MPH on the left side of you, and scorpions, snakes, and other critters on the right, you don't need to call the state troopers for flares because they wear out in 20 minutes. The AAA guy took an hour and a half to call us worthless and change our spare tire for us. He didn't charge us anything out of pity and we felt sheepish. The good news...he gave us a jack so we wouldn't waste his time if we ever end up stranded in his neck of the woods again.

Greetings from portland, a great beautiful city.

Last night we played at the Crystal Ballroom in portland, and what a sweet venue that was. Outside the hall however, was another story. We were loading in and this dude looking for money was yelling at us because we wouldn't give him any money. So this other homeless guy walks up to us and is like, "hey can I have your fan man? I'm too hot!!" it was like 60 degrees so we all had a good laugh and he laughed and walked away. We decided it was a good idea to give him a couple bucks for a few mcchicken sandwhiches at mcdonalds, and his friend that we denied giving money to came back with a vengence and almost fought kirby and jb. They played defensive kung foo on him and no violence was exchanged....

Super fans, young friends, and old women,

Theneverendingquietsneakerbombs summons your attention for another terribly confusing communication piece.

Due to legal melee that could haunt us in the future, we decided to get out of a "could-be-bad" situation by doing what we do best......CHANGE OUR NAME! We are so good at this right now it was easy. Our seemingly biweekly conversation about what the new band name would be started out very similar to the last. I asked to be called "Richard Head and the Nut Clusters," Kevin and Sexual J wanted "Stabbity Stab Stab," everyone said, "No!," and we moved on.

We figured everything happens for a reason so we didn't have to look too hard before the name Quietdrive entered the picture and it the decision was simple.

So folks, for some of you, welcome back into the world of Quietdrive and for everyone new to the name…welcome aboard!

I would like to swear on everything that is holy in my life that this will be the last time we change our name, but I did that last time and look what happened. I'm gonna keep my mouth shut and start to believe that old adage, "Nothing in life is certain except death and taxes."

As far as updates are concerned, James Harley and Matt Kirkwold recently finished mixing two songs off the new record and Chris Lord-Alge begins mixing the rest at the end of the week. So it won't be long until you hear the new Quietdrive.

See you on the Puffy AmiYumi tour!

Fans, friends, lovers,

Sneaker 2 Bombs is officially out of here. So many people thought that it was the greatest name ever. I mean you have two random words and a numeral. If that is not a recipe for world domination then I don't know what is. But the fact of the matter is simply this. In the past few months, we have taken some very large steps in becoming a band that is successful on a nationwide scale. You know what that means...scores of Crystal, women, ferarris, you know the deal.

So as we are crossing the last bridge between hometown garage band and hometown garage band that gets to travel cross country for slightly cheaper than before, we ultimately decided to find solidity in our band's name.

So over the last few weeks we have been milling around trying to come up with ideas. "Neil''s Diamonds" was already taken and so was "Mel Gibson and the Pants." As you can plainly see on your screen...our well was running dry quickly.

So because Prince can still sell out the Excel Center 4 days in a row and he has changed his name/symbol 11 times, we are going to try one last time as well. As of this day forward, the neon lights shall read

"The Never Ending..."

The Never Ending...what....you might ask. Well between the band there are some sincere reasons and there are some ( in jest) reasons i can't think of the word

We wanted a name that was about our music, NOT about us as people, the way we live, or how it rolls off the tongue. We thought of a baker's dozen catchy names and cool designs but the truth is that they were just that...catchy names and cool designs. And I will be the first to tell you that it is no easy task coming up with a band name. It's like if your name was Phil and then one day at school you told everyone to address you as "Scategories." The only man on the planet who can get away with that is Sexual J (our friend and merch man) and he does it with such grace and precision that he is on a different playing field.

But in all seriousness, never ending is synonymous with how we feel our music comes across to us and hopefully our fans/listeners. This effortless soaring that transcends us to someone different. Our goal was to describe our music in a band name and we think we did that effectively. Everyone in the band has whole heartedly agreed that this decision is final and will stay final once and for all.

We want to start something HUGE and we want to do it with everyone on board. That means our friends, families, and most importantly our fans

That is all from the update factory now. We hope to see each and every one of you in the next few months whilst we are on the road.

Hey all,
This is Kirby...I am taking my first crack at updating the News Page so here goes.
We're home now from Atlanta and we are finishing the record with Matt Kirkwold and James Harley at World Record Productions. Things are running smoothly and we should be finshed recording the first week in April. We haven't had much time to play any shows since the record began but fear not...we are playing at the Quest Club on March 31st with Lucky Boys Confusion to kick off the spring.
Justin and I have been working out. Look for our new hot bodies at the end of the month. If you don't like what you see, lie to us and tell us nice things.
Kevin had been wearing a sportcoat lately. I can't tell if it is wicked awesome sweet or just plain odd. I am going to sleep on that and will be back with more on that next week.
Droo has been getting no sleep lately and is easily agitated. I don't blame him and think he is very cool. We watch movies in the studio while Justin plays hard guitar parts.
Sexual J (Merch Man of Mystery and Intrigue) can throw a bowling ball 35 miles and hour. He continues to blow my mind every day of my life. He is equally as sexy as Justin and I's new hot bodies.
